Cookie Policy
This Cookie Policy explains how Karthik Mulugu, doing business as Versyka ("Company," "we," "us," and "our"), uses cookies and similar technologies to recognize you when you visit our website at https://www.versyka.com ("Website"). It explains what these technologies are and why we use them, as well as your rights to control our use of them.
In some cases we may use cookies to collect personal information, or that becomes personal information if we combine it with other information.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small data files that are placed on your computer or mobile device when you visit a website. Cookies are widely used by website owners in order to make their websites work, or to work more efficiently, as well as to provide reporting information.
Cookies set by the website owner (in this case, Versyka) are called "first-party cookies." Cookies set by parties other than the website owner are called "third-party cookies." Third-party cookies enable third-party features or functionality to be provided on or through the website (e.g., interactive content and analytics). The parties that set these third-party cookies can recognize your computer both when it visits the website in question and also when it visits certain other websites.
Why do we use cookies?
We only use first-party cookies that are required for technical reasons, which we refer to as "essential" or "strictly necessary" cookies. They are set only when you sign in to an account area. Our analytics are cookieless: they do not place cookies or store anything in your browser. We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not allow third parties to place advertising cookies on our Website. This is described in more detail below.
How can I control cookies?
You have the right to decide whether to accept or reject cookies. You can accept, reject, or delete cookies through your web browser settings, described below. Essential cookies are only set when you sign in to an account area and are strictly necessary to keep you signed in. Visitors who do not sign in receive no cookies from us at all.
Our analytics provider also respects the "Do Not Track" setting in your browser: if it is turned on, no analytics data is collected.
The specific cookies and similar technologies served through our Website and the purposes they perform are described below:
Essential cookies
Set only when you sign in to an account area of the Website: the customer dashboard (signing in with GitHub) or the administrator sign-in. Visitors who do not sign in never receive them.
| Name | Provider | Type | Purpose | Expires |
|---|---|---|---|---|
sb-<project>-auth-token (may be split into .0 and .1 parts) | www.versyka.com (Supabase) | http_cookie | Supabase authentication session. Keeps you signed in to the dashboard after you sign in with GitHub or a sign-in link | When you sign out, or when the session expires |
gh_manifest_state | www.versyka.com | http_cookie | Security check while connecting a GitHub App | 10 minutes |
Analytics without cookies
We use PostHog, our product analytics provider, in its cookieless mode, routed through our own domain (/ingest), to count page views and understand how visitors move through the Website (for example, whether they open the demo or the upgrade check). It sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser's local or session storage. Instead, PostHog's servers derive an anonymous identifier from a one-way hash of your IP address, browser user agent and the site, using a salt that changes every day, so visits cannot be linked across days. If you saw a cookie or storage entry named ph_phc_…_posthog from an earlier visit, it is no longer used and you can delete it.
Other cookie-free services
We also use Vercel Web Analytics (aggregate page views) and Sentry (error reports). Neither sets cookies or stores data in your browser. Payments are handled on Stripe's own checkout pages, where Stripe's cookie policy applies.
Stripe checkout and billing pages
Checkout and the billing portal are hosted by Stripe. Stripe sets its own cookies on those Stripe-hosted pages; they are not set on our Website. See Stripe's cookie policy for details.
Local storage
The Website may store small preferences in your browser's local storage, for example interface state. These are not used for tracking, and you can clear them at any time through your browser settings.
How can I control cookies on my browser?
As the means by which you can refuse cookies through your web browser controls vary from browser to browser, you should visit your browser's help menu for more information. The following is information about how to manage cookies on the most popular browsers:
What about other tracking technologies, like web beacons?
We do not use web beacons, tracking pixels, or "clear gifs" on our Website, and we do not track whether you open our emails. The analytics described above run as a script on our own pages and do not store anything in your browser.
Do you serve targeted advertising?
No. We do not serve advertising on our Website, and we do not allow third parties to place cookies on your computer or mobile device for advertising. We do not sell or share information collected through cookies for targeted advertising.
How often will you update this Cookie Policy?
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time in order to reflect, for example, changes to the cookies we use or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. Please therefore revisit this Cookie Policy regularly to stay informed about our use of cookies and related technologies.
The date at the top of this Cookie Policy indicates when it was last updated.
